| ABOUT FISH: While living in Japan, I had a weekly class with a young woman endeavoring to familiarize me with the language. I believe I was her very first student, and in the course of our meetings, no doubt gained more English than I did Japanese. During one session, she pointed to pictures of common objects, speaking the names of them, e.g., dog=hinu, etc. When she came to a fish, something in the synapses compelled me to sing the response 'sakana' to the tune of the well-known Japanese melody, 'Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). She giggled and that was all the encouragement I needed to complete the
idea.
